Hi, Back into astronomical darkness here once more. Ex hurricane Bertha looks like it's going to re-deepen and cause a few problems on Monday. Here's hoping it doesn't cause too much grief. Listening to the BBC presenter last night say "it won't be a hurricane when it gets here..." gave me flashbacks to Micheal Fishs' famous words "don't worry there's not..." Anyway looking forward to testing out the various gratings and lenses acquired over the summer months. Cheers All. Bill.

Hi Bill,
Good to hear that the summer hiatus is coming to an end up in Scotland - just a pity about the weather :-(
Still hopeful that we can obtain spectra / trajectory data on a common event !
Good Luck

Hi all,
Good luck with the new observing season.
Bill - an off-topic comment, just to let you know that I'm planning to be in Edinburgh for a couple of days in early October and hopefully attend the ASE@90 meeting on Oct 3rd.
Cheers,
Alex

Hi, As I'm not in any local soc up here I hadn't heard of that event. I'll put it on my wall planner. Would be nice to catch up for a couple of drinks. I'll drop you an email if I can make it. Need to start making travel arrangements to get to the IMC. Looks like another good turn out, over 100. (There are so many people coming from Croatia I wonder if there'll be anyone left in the country! ) Yes, it's nice to be back in the dark, but it would be nicer to get some clear skies. Mind you I finally figured out the problem with the RMOB upload. A hint for anyone else.... you need to put both versions of lat and long, that is deg min sec in addition to the decimal version. I did it as a last resort thinking my position was established with one of them but on putting both into the form, success. If you haven't seen it, it's interesting to see the activity develop. It's clever software, good visual representation. The url is www.rmob.org/livedata/main.phpcheers, Bill.
