Hi all, This years IMC is being held in Poznan, Poland. It's a bit earlier that usual being the 22-25 August. I wonder if anyone is planning on attending? Note that the conference is open to non IMO members and whilst there is a lot of meteor stuff going on it is a VERY social occasion. Check out the website for details www.imo.net/imo/imccheers, Bill.

Hi, I was impressed with the one in Armagh, very well organised and absolutely fascinating to see/hear about all the meteor observing that is going on!
Some of the locations have put me off in the past, they have been in gorgeous looking but out of the way places.
Couldn't make Sibiu myself but La Palma was fantastastic location.
This time it's very convenient as Ryan Air fly from Edinburgh direct to Poznan!
Looking forward to it immensely.
cheers, Bill.

Hi Bill, Stewartw , You should enjoy Poland. Very active astronomically over there. I should be in Barcelona ( with a certain meteor/occultation mate from Leeds) for the IOTA/ESOP meeting at exactly the same time. I want to make an IMO meeting (and it looks like Vienna is a likely venue for next year). Perhaps we may see a Dutch/Belgium/German/France venue again before long?

Hi Len,
The Polish group seem to be well organised. I'm sure it'll be great.
I was speaking with one of the guys who will be organising the Vienna IMC (if that location is succesful) when we were on La Palma. Seems such a long time off but even that'll be here before we know it!
I've not been on the wx forum as I've had a real bug to sort on out on my home machine. Hopefully it will be sorted this week. Anyway now got three old refurbished PC's at home for my camera system. Everything should be up and running for this autumn. Can do three single cameras at full res or 6 at half size writing to different discs. After talking to Alex about this a while ago I did some tests and UFO capture seems perfectly happy running multiple starts on the same machine PROVIDED the fields don't overlap and you don't record the same meteor at the same time. That's when the problems with the time stamps seems to start. It's taken a few years to get here but it's coming together.
cheers, Bill.

Hi, Got an update about the IMC, looks like it'll be another great event. Currently 105 attendees from 22 countries. There's also going to be a radio observing workshop on the Friday night. I'll be going along to that. cheers, Bill.

Hi, Just got back from the IMC. It was it's usual (rowdy) success with much late night singing, dancing and being in Poland, vodka. Very busy schedule with a huge range of talks. Now to try and recover before the next one. At ~2am on Sunday morning I was one of the first to go to bed, I'm getting too old for this ...! Bill.

Next years' will be held in Giron, France. It's a bit more out of the way and looks like a return to the more hostel/social get togethers of earlier years. There is also the "professional" Meteroids conference ongoing in Poznan. I would have loved to go but money and time limitations put paid to that so I didn't register. I had several hours to kill before my flight yesterday eveing so I walked into the city centre and had a look around. I came across the University venue by accident on my way back so stuck my head in and had a chat with one of my spectroscopy friends for half an hour before leaving. It was an amazing looking building. A lot of the same faces but not so many in total though. I though there would have been more, students etc. Bill.
