Hi All,

Looks like it's my turn to put a call out there ...

My north facing camera picked up a fireball through thin cloud on the 28th July 2012 @ 00:58:47 UTC

I'm based in Ravensmoor, Nantwich, Cheshire so wondering if any observers in the northern part of the UK managed to see this one.

Here's hoping - was the brightest one that my system has picked up so far this year

Hi William,

Great to see your excellent capture of this event because I also nabbed it from Leeds with identical timing. (See attached). The video shows 4 distinct flashes.

I have also submitted a report to the BAA Meteor Section and The Astronomer magazine - whose Meteor Coordinator, Tony Markham, is also Meteor Director of the SPA.

I'll get back to you to discuss UFO Capture profiles and UFO Analyzer M*.CSV output.

Excellent capture Alex - tha's an impresssive FOV assuming that your one camera overlaps both my North facing and East facing cameras.

My video also shows flaring but I'll need to review it again to count how many.

Let me know the dates / times of any other captures you've achieved and I'll check my archive - we may have a few more hidden on the hard-drives!

Hi William,

Here is the FOV of my 3.8mm f/0.8 lens, generated by UFO Analyzer for 80km altitudes. It also shows the provisional ground track of the meteor.

Note that the software has added extra text 'Leeds_Engl Wa'.

I hope this helps check the overlap with your N or E cameras.

I have at least one more brght-ish event in my folders, so I'll extract it later.
