After what seemed like weeks of rain clouds I had a couple of clear skies. I run a Watec 902H2 camera and 3.8mm f/0.8 aspherical lens from Leeds, facing south. Meteors are detected and recorded by UFO Capture, then analysed by UFO Analyzer. (Thanks to Leolion for recommending UFO Capture and to BillW for advice on getting started with UFO Analyzer.) I have a number of lenses, including an 8mm /f0.8, but Leolion advised sacrificing its better quality images in favour of the greater capture area of the 3.8mm lens. Perhaps not quite a fireball, but the attached image might be of interest. Did anyone else see it or record it? 2012 July 11/12 23:07:16 UT Summer Triangle in field of view. Very short path, slow, sporadic, moving from NW to SE, 1.7s duration, extinguished in a bright flash, about mag -4. Not an Iridium flare event. I submit my meteor reports to The Astronomer and the BAA Meteor Section. I use UFO Analyzer to estimate meteor shower classification, approximate magnitude and slower radiant. If any other UFO Capture users overlap my capture area it would be useful to exchange M.CSV files to try multiple station radiant estimation and perhaps even UFO Orbit. Cheers, Alex. Attachments:

Hi Alex, Apologies for taking so long to look into this and reply - have been offline for a while. Yes - I did manage to capture the same meteor from Ravensmoor, just outside Nantwich in Cheshire with my East facing camera. It was a close call though as it was right at the bottom of my FOV. I haven't reconciled my FOV with UFOAnalyser for this camera yet so don't have the csv file to hand - will try to get to this soon. My other camera (north facing and which is reconciled with UFO Analyser) didn't pick it up. As far as I'm aware, this is the first dual station capture for this board Best regards William Attachments:

Hello Alex, Welcome aboard! My appologies also for the delay. Things tend to go quiet over the summer months with holidays etc. That's a good capture, and along with Williams, show that there is still plenty to see in the lighter summer skies. Well done guys! The parallax against Altair is striking. Cheers, Bill.
