Hi, Firstly a slightly belated happy new year! I am hoping there will be a rapid improvement for the Quadrantids but I'm not holding my breath!
As for the old year, being awarded The Astonomers' George Alcock Memorial Award was a great honour, but ever since I received the letter notifying me about it the weather has been spectacularly BAD! The rainfalls have been the highest I have in my weather station records, November and December were particularly grim.
However wet and miserable as it was, with virtually no observing time, it was not as bad as the conditions in Cumbria. It must be pretty dreadful to be flooded out several times in such a short time. Maybe we should all be greatful for small mercies, as they say....
I hope everyone has a succesful and productive 2016 and that the skies are clear for all.
This is the most famous holidays in the world and in January. But can you name any holidays in august? I guess it will be not easy. But now it will be much easier for you, right? I think you can like some of them. More fun then better life.
