Hi All, I have a rock that had fallen right in front of my father out of nowhere which raised a few questions in my head. The rock was hot when he picked it up and doesn't look like a natice from from my country (Malta-Europe). The rock weighs about 190g. Tests i made: Magnet test: I did this and it was a success. The magnet stuck. Streak Test: I did this and it left no marks From the pics attached can anyone tell me anything? ![]()

Hi, What it is, I've no idea! Even though they get toasted on impacting the atmosphere meteorites cool to equilibrium very fast so if it was hot then that's vey unusual! I don't think we have any meteorite experts in the group. The only place I know of that might be able to identify it is the Natural History Museum in London. They have have an excellent meteoritic laboratory. Try googling them online. And welcome to the forum too! cheers, Bill.

Looks unusual. like it is a mixture of stones fused into one. magnetic test is interesting. i agree that it is best to get it professionally checked.
