Nice to see it getting some publicity outside of the normal astronomy channels ... but is this the same as the American Meteor Society app that was discussed at the latest IMC (see www.youtube.com/watch?v=1P5MJue1DWk)?The BBC article seems to refer to an app developed in Australia: www.fireballsinthesky.com.au/download-app/Not sure if the AMS one has been released yet ... are we going to end up with two

There is an app called Fireball Report - by Trent Waddington for Android available on Google's Play Store that collects information for the AMS . It appears to mirror their website tool here - www.amsmeteors.org/members/fireball/report-a-fireball . That Android app seemed to run OK on my Nexus 7 tablet. This tool looks quite effective. On that basis it looks like it is 'out there'now
