Hi, We have success. Last night myself and David A. (one of the Nemetode group) from near Girvan caught a nice bright meteor that generated a spectrum on one of my spectro camera's. (Since there's a limit to the number of image attachements on the free forums I'll stick to the hightlights....) The spectrum: Track on the sky: and Orbit (Thanks to Willam for doing the graphics for this.): So for the first time we have orbital and a composition for a detected meteor! This appears to be a stony meteor and the relatively low orbit inclination would suggest an asteroidal origin. A fantastic result! cheers, Bill.
